Bahoruco Oriental is located mainly in the highlands of the eastern Sierra de Bahoruco such as Remigio Loma, Loma Pie de Palo, and Loma Pey gauge. It is in the southwestern part of the Dominican Republic, located at the coordinates 71 ° 10.02 'W and 18 ° 9.60' N, forming the mountainous part of the province of Barahona.

Geographically, the protected area has a surface area of 31.5 sq km. It is climatically varied, ranging from dry to very wet, depending on the height. Rainfall ranges from 400-4000 millimeters, with average annual temperatures between 15° and 20°.
