Threats

 Many people are living in and around the area of Bahoruco Oriental Natural Reserve. In order for us to prevent the area from being seriously damaged, we need to go in and find out what is really going on. Many trees in the protected area are being cut down for economic reasons. Many other economic activities are being practiced such as mining, which pose a threat to the area. For that reason, we need to find a way to promote regrowth in the area, with the help of the residents, without hurting them or further hurting the environment.
